Randi Palmer
Special projects Consultant
Randi is an experienced leader in public safety, currently serving the New River Valley Emergency Communications Regional Authority (NRV911) as a Communications Supervisor. In this role, Randi oversees shift operations and creates a welcoming and inclusive environment for all. She is working to complete her B.S. in Business Management and her Emergency Number Professional (ENP) certification.

Randi’s experience extends well beyond NRV911, beginning her career as a Public Safety Telecommunicator at the Radford City Police Department in 2010. She worked in this role for a couple years before moving to the Virginia Tech Police Department in 2012. During her time at VTPD, she served as a Communications Officer and Communications Training Officer. She worked in this role until the consolidation in 2016.

Additionally, Randi has served as a Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) Instructor at Cardinal Criminal Justice Academy since 2015. She has also worked as an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Test Site Evaluator for the Virginia Office of EMS. Before her time in the PSAP, Randi volunteered and worked as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
Outside of work, Randi enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 children as well as taking care of her multitude of fish.
